Quique Dacosta and Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid achieve the highest distinction in the Michelin Guide

“It’s a way to close the circle for a project of great luxury, where every experience is at the highest level.”

Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid and three-star Michelin chef Quique Dacosta have achieved the three Michelin keys for one of the most iconic hotels in the world. It is the only hotel in Madrid recognised with the highest distinction awarded by the guide to reward excellence and quality of a luxury experience.

Quique Dacosta, director and gastronomic creator of the hotel, recognised as one of the best chefs internationally, considers that “it is a way of closing the circle”. “When we started this journey in the hotel business we assumed it with the same DNA of quality and excellence with which we understand the restoration in Quique Dacosta Restaurant (3 Michelin stars), with Mandarin Oriental as the best possible partner, and in what for me is the most special location in the world”, said the chef.

“We feel very grateful to Michelin and proud to have created this project of great luxury where every detail and every experience are at the highest level”, concluded the chef who in just a year and a half since its opening achieved two Michelin stars for Deessa and its positioning as one of the best restaurants in Europe.

The Michelin Guide, in this edition, resumes its initial intention to distinguish the best hotels in Spain, thus recognises the positioning of Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid as one of the best hotels in Europe.

“Its location within the Golden Triangle is as auspicious as it sounds, and its architecture, both inside and out, is nothing short of monumental,” the guide details. “Its restaurants and bars are a highlight: from the elegant Pictura cocktail bar, to the afternoon tea at Palm Court, to dining al fresco at El Jardin del Ritz, and a whole gastronomic experience at Deessa **, a modern Mediterranean restaurant recognised with two Michelin stars,” it concludes by highlighting Dacosta’s work at the helm of the different gastronomic experiences that can be enjoyed at the hotel.
